At LongView Animal Nutrition Center, we have 1,188 acres with “low fence” or no fence. This entry was provided to me by one of our wildlife management employees.
“We hit the big one today at one of the feeding stations. 6:00 AM, the feeder below the lagoon had 4 deer feeding on it. One nice buck, estimated 8 points or better.
When we got to the cattle crossing leaving pasture 7, a doe was standing in the road. As I crossed the crossing, three big bucks, 8 points and up, with very spread out racks, stood there looking at us. It would have been a class picture. Interesting, the three bucks looked like book ends. Racks looked the same. You guys would have been excited.”
